Where to recycle TIRES 
and how to prepare them in Douglas County, Oregon


What are tires?
Tires for this purpose are to be considered automotive tires; car, truck, motorcycle, etc. (bicycle ane garden tires are accepted as well, but without the fee)

As per Oregon Revised Statutes all tires are forbidden from entering a landfill in the State of Oregon.

How do I recycle my tires?
ALL tires must be taken off the rim to be collected at a County facility. Some tire shops will take your tire on the rim, but may charge a service fee to take it off the rim.

Where do I recycle my tires?
Here in Douglas County we have two facilities able to accept tires for recycling. The Douglas County Landfill in Roseburg and the Reedsport Transfer Station accepts your tires off the rim for a small fee. Bicycle and wheel barrel tires are exempt from the fee.

Waste prevention tip: When you get new tires, allow the shop to keep your old tires for reuse or reycling.
