Where to recycle MATTRESSES AND BOX SPRINGS
and how to prepare it in Douglas County, Oregon


What is this material?
Any size mattress or box spring is no longer allowed to enter the Douglas County Landfill. These items damage equipment and pose a fire hazard as they are designed to smolder for months. They can however be dropped off for recycling.


How do I recycle mattresses and box springs?
Simply remove all bedding and any debris.

Where do I recycle my mattresses and box springs?
Theses items are ONLY accepted at Roseburg and Reedsport Transfer Stations. 
Do not leave these items at thrift stores.  It costs them $8 to recycle, labor, and time to get rid of them.

What fee applies for the recycling of this material?
An $8.00 per unit fee applies to ALL mattresses and box springs.
