What is film plastic?

(bottles, tubs, trays, buckets, etc..) and Styrofoam. Film Plastic can be found in many forms (see below). In Douglas County, all film plastic can

buyers. It does not matter what number appears on the
film (if any). #1-7 are accepted. Film Plastics include:
How do I recycle film
plastic?
Film Plastic is easy to recycle. Make sure it is
clean. The process to recycle plastic never exceeds 300 degrees, so
whatever you put in comes out. In addition, it cannot have any other material. No mylars, metals, or paper. So any packaging with multiple materials is waste. Please avoid making these purchases.
Please place all your film together in bags to keep it from blowing around and littering the landscape. When improperly disposed of or littered, these bags find their way down stream and pollute our waterways and oceans leading to the death of entire ecosystems. 80% of all ocean pollution came from land!
